Issues of the Financial Times, circa 2008, were used as fuel for the duration of an exhibition in October of 2022. The video documents the performative activation of the oven, both as sole heat source and symbolically charged crucible. Exhibited in the midst of an energy / cost of living crisis, the newspaper headlines from the 2008 housing market collapse remained eerily relevant.
